I’m sure that some people might say that fruit is only meant as a meal and not something good for their health, but I really believe they’ve got it all wrong. There’s no doubt in my mind that high-fiber foods like fruits and vegetables can make a huge difference on one’s overall health. A recent study published by BBC revealed that University of Colorado researchers proved the importance of consuming significant amounts of dietary fiber in order to maintain optimal health. They explained that fiber is important because it helps to lower insulin levels, thus decreasing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Also, increasing fiber intake can also help lower cholesterol levels and promote weight loss.

Usually, most people are unaware of the importance of eating fruits everyday. But, even if you are one of those who are very conscious with your diet and you eat fruits regularly, how much exactly are you getting every day? What kind of fruits do you eat? Apples also contain pectin which helps regulate the digestive tract. Apples are high in fiber, it’s good for your hair because it speeds up hair growth and reduces hair fall.

Blackberries — These are high in folic acid, hence great for pregnant woman. They also contain calcium which helps strengthen your bones and teeth so they can enhance overall physical health. Blackberries are good for the heart too because they help lower blood cholesterol levels in the body.

Lemon — This wonderful fruit is rich in vitamin C, vitamin A which helps maintain healthy skin and eyesight. Vitamin C is good for the hair because it promotes healthy hair growth, and best of all, it has essential role in maintaining healthy immune system of the body.
